Kateřina Princová
(October 17, 1975 – May 23, 2026)
Kateřina believed that every obstacle could be overcome, and she proved it through her actions every day of her life.
Together with her husband Lukáš, her sister Lucie, and her brother-in-law Pavel, she transformed a family business into something far greater than a successful company: a vibrant world where people come together through a shared love of movement, nature, good food, and the joy of life. She turned Skibi into a unique world filled with playfulness and a genuine love for children, because she herself never lost touch with her inner child. Every project, every idea, and every detail bore her unmistakable signature – imagination, passion, and an extraordinary determination that inspired not only her team, but everyone around her.
For her family, Kateřina was both the heart and the anchor. She was born on exactly the same day as her lifelong partner Lukáš, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Together they built a life full of love, adventure, and shared dreams, even though it was heartbreakingly short.
Her greatest treasure was her son Kryštof, whom she loved unconditionally and with boundless tenderness. He was her daily source of happiness, her greatest joy, and the accomplishment she was most proud of.
Kateřina loved being surrounded by people. She had a passion for music and art, and she loved cycling, skiing, and moving through life at full speed. Yet her greatest joy was flying. As a pilot, she found in the sky a sense of freedom and energy that filled her spirit and carried her forward.
Her kindness, optimism, and enthusiasm for life were contagious. To many of us, she was both an inspiration and a source of encouragement to grow. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the best in people and took genuine pleasure in helping them grow and thrive. For this, we will remain forever grateful.
The last project that Kateřina brought to life with her characteristic energy and determination was the Skibi Festival. From the first idea to its realization, only two months passed. Even during her illness, she never stopped thinking about how to make sure everything would come together exactly as it should. The festival took place and was a great success.
On that very same day, 23 May 2026, our beloved Kateřina passed away.

Life's Work
Ski a Bike Centrum Radotín
Founded in 1988 by Kateřina’s father, Jaromír Průcha, Ski a Bike Centrum Radotín grew into one of the country’s largest and most respected specialty sports retailers. Kateřina played a key role in shaping its direction. She constantly brought new ideas, understood customers’ needs intuitively, and helped create a place people genuinely enjoyed returning to.
Thanks to her eye for detail, customers could find not only outstanding sports equipment from leading brands, but also carefully selected books, gifts, and products inspired by cycling and skiing. To Kateřina, SBCR was never just a store. It was a living family legacy and a place where sport, aesthetics, and human connection came together.
Skibi
The birth of Kateřina and Lukáš’s son, Kryštof, inspired them to create a world for children and parents built around joy, imagination, and shared experiences. That vision became Skibi, beginning with its very first store in Prague's DBK shopping centre.
Today, Skibi encompasses eight unique stores, children's cultural events, summer camps, and beloved audio stories. Kateřina believed that children need more than products – they need inspiring environments, stories, and places they will remember fondly throughout their lives. She believed that such experiences help shape character and nurture creativity.
Vindyš Factory
Kateřina and Lukáš dreamed of creating more than a retail destination. They envisioned a vibrant place for culture, movement, relaxation, and community. Thanks to Kateřina’s imagination and energy, an originally neglected industrial site was transformed, together with family and colleagues, into a place with a truly unique atmosphere.
Over the years, playful and distinctive features appeared throughout the site – a children's playground, a lookout tower, an aviary, and even a model cable car – all reflecting her imagination and attention to detail. One of the area's most distinctive landmarks is also the Walnut, a structure designed by architect David Vávra in memory of her father, Jaromír Průcha.
VELO Restaurant
VELO became the heart of the Vindyš Factory complex and a natural gathering place for people with shared interests. Kateřina gradually shaped its atmosphere, adding greenery, lighting, a piano, and carefully selected delicacies and gifts.
It was here that she often met friends, colleagues, and business partners, welcoming everyone with warmth and genuine hospitality. Thanks to her, VELO was never simply a restaurant – it was a place where people felt at home and enjoyed spending time together.
Wouki
The Czech children's urban clothing brand Wouki was born from Kateřina’s belief that children's fashion could be high-quality, playful, and artistically distinctive at the same time. She was the driving force behind the entire concept and brought together remarkable talents from Czech and international design.
She connected fashion designer Monika Drápalová, illustrator Saki Matsumoto, and traditional manufacturing workshops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The result is a brand that speaks the language of childhood imagination and still reflects Kateřina’s eye for detail, sense of beauty, and joy in creation.
SPOT

SPOT is the newest project, created for older teenagers and adults seeking original gifts, beautiful design objects, and inspiring products with a strong visual identity. From the very beginning, the project was built around atmosphere, aesthetics, and a carefully curated selection of products. The first two stores will open this autumn.
The project reflects Kateřina’s lifelong gift for discovering new brands, fresh ideas, and unexpected details capable of bringing joy to everyday life. In this way, SPOT naturally extends the family of projects that connect design, emotion, and meaningful experiences.
